Our staff helps couples, families/children, and single adults experience deeper, more meaningful relationships with God and others. We believe in the approach of the whole person. Our staff includes a Medical Director, fully licensed therapists, pastoral counselors, Biblical counselors, chaplains, nurses and often includes post graduate level interns, and masters degree level students. Our team also partners with community organizations and has affiliations with multiple local churches.
Dr. Kaylynn Brown
Life can be challenging at times, I provide clients with the understanding that change is part of life and together we will partner to get through their struggles with Biblical principles. I aid clients with the understanding of living by Faith, to be Known by Love, and to be a Voice of Hope! I had a desire to fulfill a great need of Christians. I provide clients with support to have the ability to be healthy, happy and comforted with a belief of hope and peace in a time of need. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, families, military and civil service members and families. I have a tender heart for those who are struggling with the burdens of this world. Dr. Brown has been an Ordained Minister since 2016.
I have a passion is to see the hurting and broken have their hearts revived and refreshed by the Word through the power of the Spirit. Psalm 19:7 says, "The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple." We have real hope because God is in control and working good (Romans 8:28).
Dr. Brown is a Certified Military Family Provider, Certified Military Service member Provider, Certified Combat Military Family provider and a Certified Combat Veteran Provider. As a Combat Veteran spouse Dr. Brown understands the unique struggles military families and spouses may have in addition to having first hand knowledge as a combat veteran spouse. In addition Dr. Brown is also a trauma informed provider and a Certified PTSD, Complex PTSD provider, a Certified Family Trauma Professional and a SYMBIS Certified Provider.

Odan
Odan is a retired military working dog and now works with Dr. Brown and will regularly be seen around the office greeting clients. Odan is great with children, adolescents and adults. Odan loves coming to work and helping clients. When a client is in emotional distress Odan senses this and will respond as prompted to aid the client. Odan provides a feeling of joy, a desire to live, and he generally accelerates the healing process. Odan loves helping clients break from their monotony and share moments that allow them to disconnect from their struggles and feel secure and hopeful. Odan has successfully been a participant in aiding clients to reduce violence, antisocial behaviors, cases of suicide, and addictions. Odan has a kindred spirit for veterans and clients who have experienced trauma feel safe, secure and aid in rebuilding trust.
Lacey Eaton
Lacey is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Lacey’s primary area of practice has been working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in conjunction with their caregivers. Lacey has participated in rigorous training in this field as well as Positive Psychology and being an EMDR trained therapist.
Lacey has experience aiding clients with anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver burden, PTSD as a result of domestic violence or abuse. Lacey enjoys supporting clients in finding their voice by discovering their strengths and how to apply them in their day to day life. Discovering our strengths allows us to face each day with a different perspective. We are all faced with challenges in our lives and need support from time to time. Lacey approaches her clients from a wellness perspective which is all encompassing and essential to living a quality life. A wellness perspective includes our mental health, our career, our spirituality, relationships, physical health, and so much more. Lacey takes a coaching approach in which a path is set to navigate together empowering you to achieve your goals.
Melissa Underwood
Melissa has been a nurse for over 17 years, beginning her career in Labor and Delivery and Neonatal ICU. Melissa found a deep love for patients in the Hospice and Home Health setting, in this type of setting there is immense care that goes into the patient and family's emotional well being. Melissa did practicing nursing in the school setting, in this setting as well many students have a need to just have someone to listen and help them process through emotions Nurses play a large role in mental healthcare and work closely with treatment teams to develop individualized patient plans, aiming to maximize care and help patients live productive lives.
Melissa has a love for helping children, adolescents and adults. Together as your christian counselor we will create goals, a plan, and a strategy to help you be best connected to yourself, your faith, and those people you love. Melissa frequently helps people facing broken relationships, guilt or shame, grief and loss and anxiety. Melissa seeks to strengthen her client’s relationships, resolve pain from their past, or get out of a rut with a reliance on Biblical truths. Melissa is certified in anxiety counseling for children and adolescents. Melissa sees clients virtually.
Chelsea Taylor
Chelsea is currently a behavioral health nurse for a dynamic pediatric behavioral health hospital. In the inpatient setting Chelsea has been exposed to many mental health and behavioral health struggles and concerns. Chelsea’s background and knowledge serves as a great asset to clients. Chelsea aids patients in overcoming struggles aiding them to recognize and capitalize their strengths.
We are thrilled to have Chelsea partner with Liberty Hill Counseling Centes, she provides Christian Counseling services in person and telehealth. Chelsea was named Austin American Statesman’s Behavioral Health Nurse of the year for her work and service at the inpatient hospital she works at!
Heather Stonehill
Heather is a holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. Heather has a lifelong passion for the mental health field and helping others find their way through the dark. Heather has worked in ministry and anti-trafficking for several years. In addition, Heather was previously a military spouse & casualty informant detail. Heather will provide an empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment in which you can freely and safely explore personal struggles and begin the healing process as we work towards your personal goals. Creating new ways to navigate and manage difficult seasons of life is the key to achieving and sustaining balance within ourselves. Freedom is found along the journey - Heather feels it as an honor for the opportunity to collaborate and walk with you. Heather specializes in Anxiety Disorders, Trauma and Trauma Related Disorders, Stress Disorders, Depression and PTSD.

Lerla Pettiford
Lerla holds a Master of Education in Counseling; Clinical Mental Health and K-12, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. Lerla anticipates the completion of her Doctoral Degree, Summer 2024. Lerla’s lifelong passion for mental health awareness and therapy started in middle school where she learned she had a purpose of helping her family and friends work through their problems. Lerla is passionate about helping the broken hearted heal and find renewed life, hope and light in dark spaces. The spirit behind her counseling is rooted in Jeremiah 31:3, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.” She is committed to creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for her clients to explore their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies. Lerla is known for her empathetic approach, empowering clients to heal from their past, develop self-love, and build fulfilling, resilient, and healthy relationships. Lerla’s professional journey has afforded her the privilege of helping military families, adolescents and teens, women, and couples navigate PTSD, grief, anxiety, depression, building trust, conflict resolution, communication skills, and trauma. Keith Oatman
Keith holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. He has a passion for helping others through difficult times using faith-based as well as secular counseling. Keith is a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate and has been providing mental health services to adults and adolescents with serious mental illnesses and developmental disorders since 2015. Keith integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and other techniques to provide a caring, compassionate, and safe therapeutic environment in which you can find ways to pursue your goals. Empathy is the cornerstone of counseling, as it enables clients to feel that they are heard and understood, which in turn allows the therapeutic relationship to promote growth and progress. Keith specializes in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma related disorders, phase of life issues, addictions, Christian counseling, and relationship/communication issues.

Dr. Devang Patel, DO
Devang Patel, DO, is an experienced physician who offers patients compassion and insight in addition to his exceptional medical knowledge and experience. Dr. Patel provides specialized diagnosis and support for children and adults living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in addition to supporting individuals with addictions and collaborating with Liberty Hill Counseling Center for a cohesive collaborative care model. Dr. Patel studied for his premedical/health science undergraduate degree at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, graduating in 2000. He went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois, in 2005. After qualifying, Dr. Patel worked in a variety of roles, including resident physician at a family practice and medical director for a leading home health care company. During his time as a locum, Dr. Patel broadened his knowledge and experience by taking on roles in areas as diverse as rural medicine, urgent care, mental health, primary care, pediatrics, occupational health, and hospice care. Dr. Patel’s chief interest in the medical field is ADHD, a developmental disorder that can make it difficult for people to focus and often causes difficulties at school and work. As someone who himself has ADHD, Dr. Patel has the knowledge and understanding of the condition to offer his patients a significant advantage. Everyone who sees Dr. Patel can be sure of his genuine empathy as well as receiving outstanding care.
Dr. C.J. Winckler, M.D., Collaborative Physician
Dr. Winckler has been a paramedic for 21 years and was a paramedic for 10 years before fulfilling his desire to impact individuals, practices and systems in a more monumental way by attending Medical School. As a paramedic and now an Emergency Room Physician, Dr. Winckler interacts with many individuals with mental health struggles and regularly refers patients for more in depth counseling. Dr. Winckler has a desire to impact the mental health crisis and aid in providing many changes for practices to be able to serve the community better. Dr. Winckler is an ER physician and an EMS Physician. Dr. Winckler and his colleague developed and deployed a medication assisted treatment program (Suboxone) with follow up. Dr. Winckler is an Associate Professor UT Health San Antonio and has hospital affiliation with University Health San Antonio. We are thrilled to have Dr. Winckler, his vast knowledge and experience as part of our team.
